Environment & Climate Change
At IDE Ghana, we place environmental protection and climate change mitigation and adaptation at the core of our mission. We empower local communities, especially in vulnerable regions, to address climate challenges through nature-based solutions (NbS) and community-driven initiatives. By promoting sustainable land management, agroforestry, and reforestation, we equip communities with the tools to reduce climate risks while strengthening ecosystem resilience.
We recognize the pivotal role of women and youth in climate action. IDE Ghana actively engages these groups, empowering them to lead sustainable practices that foster climate resilience. Through education and advocacy, we involve local stakeholders in decision-making processes, ensuring they have the knowledge and capacity to drive meaningful change.
Our community-led efforts encourage sustainable land use and environmental stewardship, supporting Ghana’s national climate goals. By focusing on NbS tailored to local landscapes, we enhance climate adaptation and mitigation at the grassroots level.
IDE Ghana’s programs integrate climate-smart land management education, enabling local actors to take proactive steps in addressing environmental challenges. In doing so, we contribute to both national and global climate objectives, ensuring that communities lead in creating resilient, sustainable futures.
